HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO ALL!
2 years ago, we spent chinese new year grieving over the loss of grandma.
1 year ago, we spent chinese new year at dad's side when aunt was still around.
in 2 years, i lost two of whom i hold respect for.
my grandma who took such great care of the whole extended family of her 12 children and their spouses, 23 grandchildren and some of their spouses, 5 great grand children.
my grandma is the head of the family after grandpa passed on many years ago.
it's been 2 years, but the scene of rushing to see the last of grandma on chinese new year eve remains fresh in the mind.
just 2 months plus ago, we lost my aunt.
the one who never fails to show her concern for each and every one of her nieces and nephews.
her thoughtfulness and all.
i have not really gotten over it yet i guess.
the loss sets in when we were having reunion lunch, when we first reached grandparents' place on the first day of chinese new year today.
where she will always be the first to reach and she'll be giving us angbaos with that signature smile of hers.
those were the days.
gone were those days.
